Hawaiian
seafood is prepared in many ways, all influenced by the vast diversity
of the island paradise. Several cultures have converged on the island
chain and this mix of people and culture add to the richness of the
atmosphere. A few of these cultural influences include: Japanese, Philipino,
Hawaiian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Portuguese, Samoan, Thai, Puerto
Rican and New Zealand.
All of these cultures utilize the bounteous supply of Hawaiian seafood
available. They infuse it with their cultural cooking techniques, spices
and flavors. This makes it possible to eat the same fish in Hawaii several
times a day without eating the same thing each time.
Finding Hawaiian seafood is easy. It is in all the restaurants, lunch
huts, and lunch trucks that sell food on the beaches and parks. Hawaiian
seafood abounds and it is delicious in its many preparations.
