Live lobster

Live lobsterWhen eating a lobster, it is important to get one that is still live or was live not too long before you picked it. The most important reason is because eating fresh lobster simply tastes a lot better than eating lobster that has been dead and frozen for a while. If a lobster is frozen, it tends to lose a lot of its flavor.

If you want to find some delicious lobster, you have a choice of where you might want to look. Some options might seem better than others, but a lot of this depends on exactly what it is that you are looking for. If you are searching for a lobster that is delicious and succulent, you might be willing to pay a little more than you would if you were simply looking for the cheapest one you can find.

Here are some places you might want to look to see if you can find the most delicious lobsters:

• On the beach - While you can typically find the best selection of lobsters straight on the pier or wharf, you will not find the most delicious ones in Southern California or in Florida. If you truly want to be able to find the most delicious lobster, you will need to venture to the northern coasts of Oregon or Maine.

• At your local grocer - Even though this option may seem to be a pretty good deal behind getting fresh lobster on the pier, if the grocer has a good shipment program, you can still get some pretty fresh items to purchase, even at the grocer. Higher end grocers even have tanks of live lobster.

It is important that you make sure that you do not let the lobsters sit in the tank for too long once they have arrived at the grocery store. These sea creatures are unable to thrive in an environment like this. That means that the longer they stay in there, the more likely it is that they will experience a good deal of discomfort. The less comfortable they are, the less tasty they are. It's true.

• Online - Although ordering lobster online seems tricky, it also can be quite convenient. One of the good things about shopping online is pretty quick turnaround time. This means that from the time that you click the button to order to the time that you get a crate of lobster on your doorstep could be not very much time at all. Another advantage to buying online is the fact that if you buy in bulk, you are likely to get a better deal than you would have if you simply just purchased them one-by-one at the grocery store.

Of course, you may purchase lobsters that have been dead for a few days and have been frozen and well preserved. The fact of the matter is that you do not necessarily need to buy lobster that is still alive in order to get a fresh meal, but you increase your chances of doing so if you get lobster that is still alive until you cook it.
