A
cold seafood platter is a nice touch at parties and is a popular choice
since it can sit out for a long time without losing much in the way
of flavor. However, it is important to keep everything cool. Seafood
is known for its ability to carry food borne illness. Cold platters
usually include shrimp, lump crab, smoked salmon and oysters on the
half shell.
Unfortunately, fried food is delicious. Nearly anything will taste
great if it’s rolled in bread crumbs or battered then tossed in
a vat of boiling oil for a few minutes. Seafood is no exception and
a fried seafood platter will be a big hit at any gathering. Fried platters
commonly feature shrimp, clam strips, calamari and small fish filets.
A broiled seafood platter is not as common a sight as one featuring
fried or cold seafood. For that reason one of these platters will be
sure to please a crowd. A broiled seafood platter will likely include
shrimp scampi, scallops and some form of sautéed fish. One great
thing about seafood is that it is a healthy food so even when it’s
slathered in butter and dipped in sauce it will be helping your body
recover.
